We purchased this SBAC 4th Grade Math Test Prep book from Lumos Learning and we thought it is was VERY helpful with questions that were similar to the real exam. Did just what was intended... got my girls prepped and ready! We ordered another brand as well, but thought this one was a bit better. My girls both scored EXTREMELY high... in fact, when their teacher received their scores she was so pleased that she texted us, and told us their scores were "unbelievable" and she was "so impressed and proud of them."
This book was easy to use and both the text questions and computer tests made it really easy for my 4th grader to quickly review the entire curriculum in a few weekends. He did all the exercises in the book first, and then took the tests. Would also be a great review book over the summer before going into 5th grade. Highly recommend for reviewing the entire 4th grade curriculum very efficiently.
This has all the tests and mini-tests that it states. With the practice smarter balanced test online, I am able to reference practice problems and concepts according to common core. There is still some leg work, but it provides great correlation and then testing.
This book helped my daughter a lot to prepare her SBAC exams. She worked on the book for 2 months and then finally worked on the online version of the exam. By that way she was able to understand how the exam is scheduled and she was able to prepare better.
This is a great practice book. It touches upon all the key concepts on which the SBAC exam is made. Really gave a good practice to my son.
This was a great purchase. I used it to quickly fill in some gaps where my students had fallen short during the year. The book is thorough and covers all the standards so you can select what you want to target with each student or whole class. I wish I would have purchased it earlier.
I used this book about 6 weeks before the SBAC test and I felt it helped prepare my students for the type of questions they encountered. I used Plickers so it could make the multiple choice aspect of it more fun (and so I could collect student data quickly). I did not use the online part of the book. Now that I'm teaching 5th grade, will be buying the Grade 5 one this year.
It covers most of the topics giving detailed explanations. The test lets the kid get a good feel of the testing experience.I would recommend this book especially if the kids are just beginning with SBAC testing. Its more advisable to have this book 2-3 months before the actual tests.
