The author gives a lot of great advice for doing life and general business. I was expecting a book on consulting. From the title, I was expecting more tips and how to’s of consulting. It was a decent read but just set your expectations right.
Consulting Essentials is the perfect title for this book. I personally know Jeff and worked with him at a software company. He is a solid consultant, teacher and leader. This book is jam-packed with useful tools and practical experiences Jeff has included to articulate how to apply essential tools to being a good analyst and consultant. I bought this book for my two kids who are early in their professional careers. This book gives them a handy reference of tools to use throughout their careers. I have also been involved in the consulting business for over 30 years and I found Jeff's book useful in resharpening my skills. I would recommend this book to anyone who works as a consultant, analyst or general business problem solver. Buy this book and use it as your educational tool and reference guide for improving your craft.
